Patek Philippe introduced the initial Calatrava Haute Joaillerie Reference 4899 in 2017. This modest, 35mm watch is set with an impressive 702 gems total, including 36 gems on the crown and 147 gems on the buckle. However, it is equally impressive inside. The Calatrava Haute Joaillerie Ref. 4899/901 houses the brand’s in-house, ultra-thin Calibre 240 self-winding mechanical movement. The model displays basic hours and minutes and boasts water resistance up to 30 metres. However, its most notable feature is a 22-karat yellow gold off-centre mini-rotor. The mechanism is frees up space and is indicative of Patek’s Philippe’s extreme attention to detail in their finishing techniques.
